Samson Siasia, head coach of the Nigeria U23 squad, has admitted his team's intensive training in bearly three months was well rewarded in their 4-1 victory against Gabon on Saturday.
The Dream Team VI thrashed their opponents as a brace from Junior Ajayi plus strikes from Oghenekaro Etebo and Junior Ajayi handed Siasia's team the first leg advantage in the 2015 All African Games qualifier played in Libreville with the second leg in a fortnight.
Siasia said his team is still work in progress as he continues to strengthen his squad in every department as long as they play together.
He commended his boys for their spectacular show in Libreville.
"Having in mind that this team has been together for barely three months, Nigerians should appreciate what these boys did in Libreville," Siasia said..
"I am really impressed with all of them, they played as a team, meaning that all the hard work we put them through in the past three months has not been in vain," he concluded.
