Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday directed all security agencies in the country to help curb the menace of piracy in the Nigerian movies industry so that artistes can enjoy the fruit of their labour.

This disclosure was delivered to pressmen via a press release from Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.

The Statement reads thus;

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed law enforcement agencies to step up their efforts to curb the menace of pirates in Nigeria’s entertainment industry so that artistes can enjoy the fruits of their labour. President Buhari gave the directive after receiving a briefing from the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan and her Directors on Tuesday in Abuja.

“Nollywood is making progress. We should work with them. Unless they are backed, they will be ruined by pirates who want to reap where they have not sowed. “They have built an industry with their own sweat. It is therefore incumbent on us to give them the necessary support,” President Buhari said.

He charged law enforcement agencies to identify the perpetrators of copyright piracy, their sponsors and collaborators, and bring them to justice. President Buhari also charged the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to tap into the opportunities presented by their wide reach to shore up their revenue profiles.

Kiss Daniel does not want to be a baby daddy.

The trend is quite common in the Nigerian entertainment scene, with many stars like Wizkid, Ice Prince, and most recently Davido, having children outside wedlock.

But the Woju singer has no plans to go down that road, saying in a recent interview that he wasn’t going to father any kind till he was married.

He also revealed that he had no issues marrying an older woman, saying: “Depends on the chemistry and the level of understanding from both parties…Age is not a barriers when it comes to loving and sharing emotions, so I will say yes, I can marry an older lover.”
