Based on your personal experiences, how do you think one should deal with heartbreak, and more
importantly how can such a person move on to love again?

No matter how much you talk about heartbreak, even to the extent of saying, “oh you want to die”; heartbreak doesn’t kill anybody. After a while, you get better; just like the Michael Bolton song that says nothing heals a broken heart like time, another love and tenderness. Time does heal. So after a while you realize that the heartbreak happened for a reason. If you dwell on it too much, instead of being the victim, you become the villain because people would have moved on with their lives. You are the one holding grudges, planning to hurt; instead of
being the victim that you were and learning your lessons, you become the bad person.

Do you believe in marriage counseling?

It helps a bit. In the sense that advice is good, I don’t like calling it counseling, because it is in form of advice. Talk with people that have been there. They know these things. It’s like a school. Dating is like primary school while marriage is like the tertiary institution. Lecturers don’t explain everything to you; they just explain the necessary and tell you the scope of what should be covered. So you learn as you go, you learn on the job.
