The highly-anticipated attachable lens cameras from Sony have been
making the rounds of the rumor mill for some time now, and are now
finally official! There will initially be two lenses that are a part of
Sony’s new QX series, the premier CyberShot DSC-QX100, and the cheaper
CyberShot DSC-QX10 attachable lens cameras.
The CyberShot DSC-QX100 features a high-quality 1-inch, 20.2 MP Exmor RCMOS sensor, paired with a fast, wide aperture Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens with 3.6x optical zoom, and a BIONZ image processor. The DSC-QX100 also features a dedicated control ring for manual adjustment of focus and zoom. Several different shooting modes can be selected while using the camera including Program Auto, Aperture Priority, Intelligent Auto, and Superior Auto.
On
the other hand, the CyberShot DSC-QX10 features an 18.2 MP Exmor RCMOS
sensor, and 10x optical zoom Sony G Lens. It’s also extremely portable
and lightweight. The camera has built-in Optical SteadyShot image
stabilization to combat camera shake for blur-free photography. The
DSC-QX10 features Program Auto, Intelligent Auto and Superior Auto modes
to choose from, and will be available in two different colors – black
and white.
We already knew everything in the press release, but the highlight is that it gives us a definite price point. The QX100 will go for $500(82 thousand naira) while the QX10 will cost you half the price at $250(42 thousand naira) . Not too bad for a good camera with a Carl Zeiss lens! Especially if you want something compact, portable and with good quality.
